// For Mercy’s Sake Needs

MAY 2010

Since finishing our community center in Danceau last year the building has been used for tutoring children throughout the week as well as for a distribution center for emergency food relief. The shower has been used by all the school children and the families have been excited to utilize the three washing machines. The children have clean clothes to wear and love using the bathroom and sinks to take care of their basic needs. We have 5 children targeted to graduate high school this year and we’ve held two medical clinics in the center since its completion. It is used for church services weekly, sunday school in the morning and village wide church services on sunday evenings. There is more than an acre of land to the rear of the property that we are now building a playground on. The estimated budget for the playground is $7,000.00 ad will include leveling the ground, a cushioned field for volleyball and soccer , a ping pong table, nets and badminton supplies, soccer and basketballs and hoops for the teenagers. For the younger children a fully equipped wooden swing set with swings, slides, monkey bars, rope climbing, separate rocking animals and seesaws. We want the community center with its grounds to be a source of light, hope and joy to everyone in the community, especially the children. Because of what you’ve helped us do these children do not feel pitied, Mercy has made them feel loved.
